Whether you are a soccer fan or not, it is no secret that some of the best footballs in the world have home stadiums that are marvels in structural design and presence. The look of a stadium and the atmosphere can add a whole extra layer to a club. Some of the biggest European clubs have made a name for themselves because of their famous atmospheres and iconic stadiums.
Signal Iduna Park
This is a perfect example of a club that has used its atmosphere for the betterment of the club. Even though Borussia Dortmund is not the most successful club in Germany, with Bayern Munich taking that crown – when it comes to stadium and atmosphere, Dortmund might top the list in the world of football and not just in Germany.
The Yellow Wall is what makes the stadium second to none, with the iconic yellow color on the section of the stadium that stands 25,000 strong with Dortmund fans. With the use of iconic images, like Tifos, whenever Dortmund plays at home, they could easily be the favorites on the football odds because of their intimidating stadium.
Wembley Stadium
Even if you don’t know or watch soccer, you have most likely heard of Wembley Stadium from concerts like the Taylor Swift Eras tour or Coldplay, as well as other events. Knowing the history of the stadium should already be enough to entice fans of soccer or fans of impressive stadiums.
The English national teams play their games there, and the fan collection is filled with some of the best fans from all of the best clubs in England to show their support. If you have the chance to watch England play and see all of their best talents on one pitch, definitely take it!
Parc des Princes
If you want purely royalty, the Parc de Princes is your best bet. The “Allez Paris” chants that ring around the stadium are a huge draw for any, and the exterior design of the stadium itself will excite anyone who finds these sorts of things interesting.
When I say royalty, you may be confused by what I mean: not only do the Champions League nights have a great atmosphere and attract football royalty into the beautiful stadium. But before the stadium was used by PSG, it was used by the French royal family as a hunting ground.
Estadio Santiago Bernabéu
When I was younger and I went to Madrid, when you go to the middle of the city center you will see a huge stadium that looks slightly out of place among the regular city center features.
But, for pure football excellence and a great atmosphere, the Bernabeu is one of the best of all time.
The stadium itself has been refurbished recently and now is the most modern and intricately designed soccer stadium in the world. Having hosted some of the world’s best players, if you want to express your love for soccer, this stadium is a great place to do that.
San Siro
Now, this is iconic in the sports world with it having a structure and design that has been the cornerstone of stadium design since. The rustic aesthetic and the icons that have played in this stadium add to it. With the atmosphere and it hosting both of the Milan clubs, they take it as a competition to outdo each other. WIth around 80,000 seats available and it being in one of the best Cities on earth, why wouldn’t you want to go?
Overall, soccer stadiums are marvels in the sports world and this list could go on for days and days if I went through all of the best stadiums in Europe. We could mention The Etihad Stadium, Old Trafford, Anfield, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and that’s before we have even left the Premier League.
